Quality Management
Being a key player in the aviation industry, Koolhaas Alphen is meticulous about quality. In August 2001, we implemented the ISO 9001:2000 certified Quality Management System. On July 11, 2005 we received further certification based on the latest aviation standard AS9120:2002. This standard was developed as a benchmark for Stockists and Distributors of Aircraft Spare parts.
Passion for quality
Through continuous training programs, Koolhaas ensures that the Quality Management System is implemented and understood at all levels of the organization. Both internal and external manual revisions and updates, as well as the implementation of work instructions, are executed in accordance with the Koolhaas Quality Management System and other relevant Aviation Authority regulations, such as the FAA and EASA.

Definitions
Due to structural changes made in the aircraft industry the definition given to any aircraft part depends on a number of aspects e.g. certification type, status indication, age, etc. When selling aircraft parts it is very important to define what a customer can expect to receive with an ordered part. Although we are obliged to follow the EASA / FAA certification guidelines, these does not cover all possibilities for different views of what can be expected.
To ensure our customers understand what they can expect in the way of certification, traceability, visual condition and packaging with any ordered part we have assigned the following:
-
Trace and Certification Guide-lines
The table below shows the relation between a the condition as stated on for example a quotation and the trace/certification these items may have.
Item condition Trace indications Certification FN= Factory New OEM / MFG Koolhaas CoC, FAA Form 8130-3, EASA Form One, military equivalent NE= New OEM / MFG / FAR145 / EASA145 / Airline Koolhaas CoC, OEM CoC / packlist, MFG CoC / packlist NS= New Surplus FAR145 / EASA145 / Airline Koolhaas COC OH= Overhauled FAR145 / EASA145 / Airline Koolhaas CoC, FAA Form 8130-3, JAA Form One, EASA Form One, military equivalent SV= Serviceable FAR145 / EASA145 / Airline FAA8130-3, JAA Form 1, Military Equivalent Koolhaas CoC, FAA Form 8130-3, JAA Form One, EASA Form One, military equivalent AR= As Removed FAR145 / EASA145 / Airline Koolhaas COC AI= As Is FAR145 / EASA145 / Airline Koolhaas COC -

-
Inspections
Through the experience of our dedicated team we have built up a set of guidelines to cover all eventualities concerning aircraft parts and related material inspections. For items from our own stocks and material deemed for customers who have ordered with our company, all items are controlled and inspected in the areas such as visual condition, documentation, traceability and accuracy of these different aspects, to cover both internally assigned guidelines and customer related agreements. We are proud of our quality control program and the way in which it can be used to decrease the chances of multiple mistakes over the course of time with its ability to initiate preventive actions to further eliminate any problem that has arisen.
-
Certification
Operating in the field of aircraft spares and services, we need to know our way around product certification possibilities and national requirements along with the guide-lines a customer may lay down. On the other hand, we also want to emphasize that we are regulated and are continuously on the move to prove our commitment to excellence.
